Later in 1959, his son Karl Grünewald junior started expanding the company by supplying not only small regional markets but also with large companies. The company started developing other innovated goods such as electric cookers and became one of the best-selling products. Due to their infamous best sellers in electric cookers, the name ELO became their company name deriving from the word ELektrO. Soon ELO was registered as a trademark. With constant updates on new designs and innovative technology it’s no wonder ELO was awarded “Product of the Year” in 2011 and the following year ELO was awarded “The Most Innovative Brand of the Year.” The company has been around for over 80 years and is constantly coming up with innovative products. Great cookwareI have tried several pans for our induction cooktop but they all had problems. The non stick coating inside the biggest problem but also effectively conducting heat was another problem. This set of pans is not only the best for cooking but also very attractive. There is only one pan with a long handle the rest have two half round handles on either side. It took time getting use to it but now I like them better. And they look cute on the cooktop! The bottom of the pan get as hot as it is suppose to but the handle stay cool to the touch on an induction cooktop. Since they are stainless steel inside and out they are very easy to clean and no worries about eating some of the lining of the pan with our meal. Inside each pan is a liter and quart marks. They are not over heavy pans but feel as expensive like my best stainless steel pans. The capacity sizes are different than we are use to and I like them, 2 pans are 1 liter, one with a long handle and one with 2 half round handles, the other 3 pans are 1and a half liter, 3 liters and 5 liters. They are the best set pans I have bought, I highly recommend them.In my years as an Amazon customer, this is only my second review since I don’t write them if I haven’t anything to add to what has already been stated about a product. In my opinion, this cookware set definitely called for me to say something.I kindly reference you to the picture I provided. The sauce pan on the left is one I’ve owned for a good long time and still looks almost like new and not ready to be discarded, yes? Wrong. I’m tossing all five of the stainless pots I’ve used for the last sixteen years, as they are being replaced with this ELO Skyline Stainless Steel cookware set. Allow me to now explain why, as I believe this is a serious issue. Please note my pot on the left, and the rivet covers on the inside of the pot where the handle is attached. Every set I looked at (including those that went into the multiple, triple digits and beyond in price), have those same “rivet covers” INSIDE the pots and pans where you will be cooking your food. In my picture, the pot on the right is one from my new German-made ELO set that I’ve been using for five days now. Note that there is NO “rivet cover”.To make a long story short... it was called to my attention by someone very knowledgeable, that the pots I had been using could actually pose a great health risk. Those rivets can lift away from the inside of the pot’s body, even if it’s microscopic and you can’t see it. In fact, in three of my five pots, the rivet covers had already raised enough that I could feel a space forming on the bottom side of them! And no matter how well you clean pots like those, you *cannot* guarantee that you’ve gotten all food particles out from underneath those rivet covers if they’ve lifted away even the tiniest bit! I have to say, it made me feel rather silly that I hadn’t given that a single thought myself.Alrighty, my opinion and main reason for choosing this particular set out of the way and on to the ELO pots themselves... they are a nice weight for me personally, not overly light nor heavy to handle. They seem nicely constructed and I’ve not had any issues cooking with them. As mentioned, I’ve used stainless cookware for years and was already in the habit of using lower heat settings on my gas stove anyhow. I find that trying to use high heat with stainless just leads to problems that aren't necessary. The pots cook evenly and as for foods like eggs not sticking, I simply turn the burner on a low-medium, add a touch of olive oil, make sure the bottom of the pan is nicely coated and leave it for a minute or so to heat through. Then I add my eggs, and cook to my liking... no sticking, with the rare exception of maybe a stubborn egg corner now and then, but not really a problem.Bottom line... I highly recommend the ELO Skyline Stainless Steel cookware set! It’s stainless, and without rivet covers on the inside of the pots where you’re cooking your food! So as a famous cowboy once said, “...if you don't have one, get one!” :DLove this pot set. Easy to clean and cook in. Love making my teas, stews and other food.Pans arrived nicely packaged. they look very nice, shiny. they do not have any weight to them at all. very light. very thin pans. I like the variety of sizes, My old pans were solid, heavy stainless steel, these feel like they are cheap aluminum pans. they do however past the induction test. magnetic bottom. After I use them I will update my review. If these were my only pans I would not be happy because I am used to solid stainless steel heavy pans.If you want something that feels more solid, go for a more expensive product.I have had these for a few months now, and I really do enjoy them. Although they do have some issues I don't particularly enjoy.Pros: They cook evenly and well, and I have not had any issues cooking anything in them. I have a glass top stove, not induction, and they have preformed better than any other pots I have had. They seem to heat evenly, which my old pans did not. The metal handles and lid handles do not get hot very fast. But they can get hot is used for long enough. Most of the time I do not need to use a hot pad to touch them.Cons: They have taken to getting spots on the inside after just one use. The spots do not scrub out. In the instruction is says you can boil vinegar in them to remove spots, but if they get them after one use whats the point? Also, I have had water get stuck in between the metal handles and glass lids. This happens mainly in the dish washer, but has happened when in use. Most of the water escapes when heated enough. The only other thing I'm not happy with so far is that they need to be wiped out very well before going in the dishwasher or they don't really get cleaned.Overall I really do like they, and my cons are probably more of personal issues I guess. So defiantly a 4 star product.
