When our dog is in his outdoor kennel he’ll do his best to shred or chew anything placed in there including normal dog beds and his Dogloo. I’ve only saved the Dogloo by reinforcing it with metal. The beds were gone within hours. After reading the positive reviews from the owners of power chewers regarding the Kuranda Aluminum Dog Bed I thought I’d give it a shot. Our dog is a 75 pound mixed breed and I wasn’t sure if I should order the Large or Extra Large bed. I decided a little too big would be better than a little too small so I chose the Extra Large and it was the perfect size. I was worried about the assembly process after reading some reviews but it really wasn’t bad at all. Much easier than I anticipated and had it put together in about 30 minutes. After a few treats and some down commands on the bed in our living room I think he learned it was for laying on. The first night I placed it in his kennel he pushed it around and was looking for a way to chew on it with no luck. During the night he attempted to power dig through the canvas and he couldn’t even get a scratch into the material. If anything he filed his nails down a little. It’s now been in his kennel for about a month. He loves his bed and is constantly laying on it instead of the concrete floor. He has given up trying to tear it up and the bed looks exactly like it did on day one. Best $150 I’ve dropped to give him some extra comfort. It’s worth the $$!Quick Update - He flipped his bed over and chewed the rubber feet off the legs. He tried to power dig through it again and so far the only damage is to the rubber feet. I’m still very satisfied with the bed and happy I purchased it.My husband would not let me get our dog a bed because he’s so destructive that he tears them up instantly. But he’s a big dog, a Doberman, and getting older and I wanted some thing for him so that he was not laying on the floor. This bed has been perfect! I can hear him every night scratching at it and it’s not showing any signs of damage. It’s quite comfortable, has almost a trampoline type feel. Our dog loves it and so does the cat to his avail! The other nice thing about it is that the legs can be left off so that it fits into his kennel at night and then added on so that it’s raised up for height!Sure it is a bit pricey, but when I figured how much I was spending on those stuffed beds that keep getting ruined, this was a much more cost effective price. Other reviews stated that the final screw was hard to place with the stretching of the nylon. My husband did not encounter that issue with ours. I bought this for our American Bulldog and he loves it! I just had to throw a towel on there at first so that he understood it was a bed! The bed itself sits around 8 inches off the ground. The XL is larger than my 68lb bulldog needs, as he tends to curl up in a tight ball. The surface area gives him plenty of room to stretch out if he chooses to, though.Pros: Well made. We encountered no construction issues. The color is a nice forest green color. Easily supports my chubby 68lb American Bulldog. There is no sag in the material, and the frame doesn't twist or jump around. It doesn't catch the hair in the weave (Ballistic Nylon)! Essential, because we also have a long haired German Shepherd.Cons: The ballistic nylon is a bit slippery getting on and off, so it may not be the best choice of materials for shy or nervous dogs. The price. However, given how many years I expect to have it, it should be well worth the money spent.I was skepticable about this bed being indestructible and after reading several comments from pitbull dog owners decided to give it a try. I purchased two as I have two pits and I am amazed! My dogs sleep through the night without tossing and turning (at least I haven't noticed it anymore). My female pit was very reluctant the first two days of getting on the bed..I had to assist her, but on the third day, I came home and noticed she leaped off the bed to meet me at the front door.I like other dog owners have spent countless amounts of money purchasing dog beds and have been extremely frustrated to turn around and find my money literally shredded to pieces. Purchasing this bed is probably one of the wisest and economical investments you can make for your pet and your wallet.I found it rather easy to install (again - I read the comments from previous first time users), and I have to mention that I am well over 170, my 2 pits together weight 142 and the three of us layed in one bed...albeit short, the two of them sleep sometimes in the same bed. The bed is definetly durable - I purchased the XL beds and I am absolutely thrilled about my decision to spend the money and purchase this product!I wasn't sure if the dogs were going to like these beds but they adapted to them immediately. I probably should have purchased one of them in xtra-large instead of two Large beds but the big dog (Rottweiler) fits on it in the fetal position. He sleeps and snores just fine on this bed. The Pit Bull of course fits great on the Large bed and she is usually joined with my cat. The cat loves the bed, too! And anyone who owns dogs and cats together also knows that I sometimes find the cat on one bed, and the two dogs on one bed which is quite something to behold. A Rottie and a Pit Bull can fit on one Large bed but they look like two sardines in a can. Here's the best part: the Pit Bull has NOT destroyed the beds! There has not even been an attempt to chew anything, even when I use the fleece cover on them.Assembly: The first one was trying but the second one went much faster.Excellent quality, light weight for moving around and our Shepherd loves itLove this bed, he can’t destroy it
