I work with fabric. Quilting & embroidery. I measure a lot. While I love the see-through rulers, I need long, straight lines sometimes. This rule works much better than lining up plastic rulers and there is no bending or variance midway. This works well with rotary cutters, too. It also works to hold fabric straight when it might wiggle... like when your cat jumps up in the middle of your organizing. It came in a sturdy box and had no damage, as some have reported. I liked it so much, I bought the longer version, and I bought another 48" rule for my daughter who is also a quilter.
