I have ordered these three times. One set white---two were broken of the 4, and two sets red; both had broken dishes beyond use..Box was in good shape but one of the plates was broken! Did not report item! Was happy with the 3 platesyou can use these to bake pies, as a dinner plate, to reheat meals ,in the microwave, store leftovers in the refrigerator or bake dishes in the oven.Broken upon opening.Very happy with this purchase. I've mainly used them for fruit pies. I've also used them as serving plates. They're pretty and utilitarian and are great additions to my collection.These are very sturdy and heavy. We read that when a senior or dementia patient declines in appetite, it’s good to use red plates and bowls. It makes sense because their eyesight is failing, and seniors tend to eat soft, light-colored foods: mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, pasta, etc. Light colored foods show up better on the red plates, and their appetites increase. Plus, red seems to attract both babies and seniors. It has worked for us. So, if you’re trying to tempt a loved one into eating more, you may want to try these.I love the color and they seem durable, but there was no information for what the maximum baking temperature is. So glad there were no styrofoam peanuts in the packing.For apple pie, these ceramic pans are a tad too shallow but would be fine for pecan or pumpkin pies where a standard 9” pie plate is most suitable.After experiencing exploding Oxo glass pie plates, I was happy to find this alternative.
