This heavy weight aluminum stock pot is handiest cookware item in the kitchen. It is constructed of heavy gauge reinforced aluminum. It helps in making stock, broth and stews to braising meat or steaming lobster or crab. This can be cook nearly anything inside its wide base and high walls. So these are really great pots if you are after an Aluminum pot. They are thick, have great handels and mine arrived without any damage despite the shipping boxes being a little torn up. They do heat up fast since the sides are aluminum and transfer heat to the contents of the pot. I am using them to melt wax. I would look at a stainless option with an aluminum insert bottom for brewing.My only issue was finding a lid (cover) that fit. The recommended lids did not fit on this version of the pot.
