The look and feel of this pen light is great. It's got a very solid metallic build and the click mechanisms is durable and feels great, requiring a firm click to activate. However, there are a couple things missing that could have taken this from good to very good.1. The light can't focus/adjust widthThis was disappointing as the light beam is fairly narrow. Yes, it's good for up close illumination, but it could be so much better if you could focus the light.2. 100 Lumens just isn't enoughWe have a Coast HP1 Focusing 190 Lumen Flash Light. It's got 190 lumens and the difference in light power is very noticeable. The Coast is not as tall and is a little bulkier, but it delivers quite the punch. If they would have made the CAT 190 lumens, there would have been more to like. There is something to say for up-close illumination however. If you're using this to read documents out in the field when it's getting dark, too powerful can be too much. So, if you're using it for up-close work, the CAT pen light will do the job just fine. If you're trying to illuminate a path through the woods, you'll want something more powerful.
